Hong Kong represents a market of great strategic significance to Geely’s global expansion. In 2005, Geely Auto became the first privately owned Chinese automotive brand to be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. More recently, Geely Holding’s portfolio brands have expanded their presence immensely in the Hong Kong market with products from Zeekr, smart, Volvo, Farizon, and Geely Auto launched in succession over the past several years.
During this year’s Expo, Farizon Auto held a delivery ceremony for the batch of 1,000 Farizon electric SuperVan taxis for the newly launched Big Bee taxi service in Hong Kong. In addition, the city is also set to receive their first methanol hybrid electric city buses the Farizon U12M which will help support Hong Kong in reaching their 2050 carbon neutrality goals.
In the consumer market, Zeekr has played an important role in expanding Geely Holding’s presence in Hong Kong. During the Expo, the luxury electric mobility technology brand showcased their latest popular models including the Zeekr 009 MPV, Zeekr X, and Zeekr 7X which will be launched in Hong Kong on June 26. Expanding Geely’s presence in the mainstream consumer segment, Geely Auto also brought their latest global electric model, the Galaxy E5 to the Expo which will be launched in Hong Kong in Q3 2025.
This year’s Hong Kong Expo was also an opportunity for Geely’s low-altitude mobility technology company, Aerofugia to showcased their latest pure electric manned e-VTOL vehicle, the AE200 which seats 6, has a range of 200km, and cruising speed of 248km/h. The AE200 is designed for safe, environment friendly, comfortable, economical urban low altitude travel, emergency services, and tourism.
Playing a major role in supporting smart and low altitude mobility is Geely’s integrated ground-space technologies. Spearheading Geely’s expanding global presence in the aerospace sector is GeeSpace which took the opportunity to exhibit their low-orbit satellites and satellite production capabilities at the Expo. Currently, Geely has placed 30 low-orbit satellites into orbit and the first phase of the “Geely Future Mobility Constellation” is set to be completed this year.
In past year, many of Geely’s technological accomplishments that directly enhance user experience have come from the application of AI. At this year’s Expo, Meizu showcased new products from their user-centric integrated AI ecosystem including the Flyme AIOS, Meizu AI phones, smart glasses, and smart cockpits. Enhancing the functionality of Flyme Auto, the Flyme AIOS has already been installed on 24 vehicle models from Geely portfolio brands such as Lynk & Co and Geely Auto.
